Hybrid-scanner (galvano + resonant): The resonant scanner is capable of taking up to 30 frame per second (512 x 512 pixels) and 420 fps (512 x 32 pixels). It can be combined with the piezo Z control to achive 3D imaging of intercellular fast dynamics. The hybrid scanner head allows simultaneous photomanipulation and ultrafast imaging. It allows acquisition of rapid changes after photomanipulation (FRAP, photoactivation, photoconversion…).

Detectors: 4 detection channels including two GaAsP which provide higher signal with low noise level.

Excitation wavelengths: 405, 488, 561 and 640nm

Fuorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM): For FRET detection, label free tissue imaging, Fluorophores discrimination. Picoquant FLIM module incudes a 488 nm pulsed laser and one hybride detector.

Leica DM5500B

This upright microscope is particularly suited for imaging thin fluorescent samples (cell culture, tissue sections < 5µm) mounted between slide and coverslip.

It is equipped with a low noise high resolution digital CCD camera (Hamamatsu ORCA-ER) and a set of objectives ranging from 10x to 100x

TIRF microscopy: is particularly suited for imaging of membrane processes such as endocytosis, cellular adherence or any structure located nearby the surface of the coverslip.

The microscope is equipped with a scanner that allows automatic setting of the TIRF angle and the adjustment of the required TIRF penetration depth to the various wavelengths.

Thanks to the automatic AOTF control, it is possible to switch quickly between the laser lines at a constant penetration depth. The evanescent field penetrates the specimen with depth going from 70 nm up to 300 nm.

Laser microdissection: Select and isolate the material of interest with precision and no contamination.

Microdissection is achived using a 355 nm pulsed laser with the possibility to cut with submicromiter resolution. Cut samples are collected using pressure catapulting technology. A range of objectives (from 5x up to 150x) allows working on large tissue samples down to intracellular level. The cells/tissues of interest can be identified using brightfield or fluorescence imaging. Thick samples up to a 100 µm can be cut. In addition to fixed samples, isolation of live cells is also possible (for analysis or reculivation). Collected material can be subsequently analyzed for DNA, RNA or proteins.
