The Biophotonics Facility

The C3M Biophotonics facility provides instruments and expertise to solve challenging biological questions using modern light-microscopy. A wide range of specialised microscope systems is available, giving access to long term and fast live imaging, confocal microscopy, automated imaging and screening, tiled imaging of large areas, TIRF microscopy, laser ablation and laser microdissection. Number of advanced techniques such as calcium imaging, FLIM, FRET, FRAP, FCS can be used.

The C3M research teams have established strong interactions with the clinical departments of Nice hospitals with the aim of developing translational research. The Biophotonics facility is thus implicated in projects allaying fundamental and clinical research. The facility is open to academics, clinician as well as industry.

The facility is part of MICA (Microscopie Imagerie Côte d’Azur), which mutualises microscopy equipments over seven platforms in the Nice area (http://www.mica-bio.fr/), giving access to a   even wider range of techniques. The MICA structure is labeled IBISA (Infrastructures in Biology Health and Agronomy). The Quality Management System provides a controlled environment turned to continuously improve our services to the benefits of the facility users.
