Professional Experience

Amanda Evans obtained a Fulbright Student Fellowship in Germany after completing her B.A. in chemistry at the Bryn Mawr College, PA, USA. In 2007 she obtained her PhD in synthetic organic chemistry in Professor S.V. Ley’s group at the University of Cambridge, UK, investigating the desymmetri­sation of cyclic meso-anhydrides and their derivatisation for use in natural product synthesis. From 2008 to 2011 she has been a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Cambridge researching organocataylytic polymers, polymer-DNA conjugates, alternative DNA architectures and DNA templates for nanoalignment. In 2012 Amanda Evans was awarded an RSC JWT Jones Fellowship to investigate the origin of the chirality of the genetic code as a collaborative international project between the University of Cambridge, UK and the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France.
