French Language and Culture Classes


Public : every international student - age 18 and above - and who has an equivalent to the Baccalauréat (certificate of secondary school).

Required level to enrol: : at least level A2.

Objective: in these classes, you will practice oral and written French. This will be completed with a speciality and French civilisation classes. These classes develop the methodological skills that are necessary to join an academic course in French.



To develop comprehension, oral and written expression in accordance with academic objectives.

To study French using authentic written, audio and video documents

To discover and go deeper into the study of a discipline

To discover and go deeper into some significant elements of French civilisation

Classes : 15 hours each week during 13 weeks.


Students who wish to get enrolled in these courses must be fully available between 8:30 am and 6:30 pm.


Group for each level (20 students per group): B1/ B2/ C1/ C2 (only second semester)

The students enrol in a group in accordance with their level that is evaluated based on a several test at the beginning of the session. Students have to comply with their group schedule. Personal or familial commitments cannot be used to go into another group.

After the tests, the teaching staff of the centre reserves the right to redirect students if they are enrolled in a course that does not comply with their level.

Diplomas and Certifications :

Academic Degree in French Studies (DUEF): DUEF B1, DUEF B2, DUEF C1, DUEF C2 (only with session 2), degrees that are recognised by the academic centres that are members of the ADCUEFE.


Classes are mandatory in order to enrol in these classes. Over 5 unjustified absences (justified absence: illness, exceptional event) the student will not be able to enrol for a diploma and their reregistration to the CUEFLE can be rejected.

Other options can be arranged provided that they do not collide with the one of the CUEFLE

♦  DALF C1, national diploma recognised by the Ministry of National Education.

♦ TCF (French Knowledge Test): level test accepted by the French Ministry of Education.
