Word Order

This activity covers a few short rules governing where certain types of words should go in sentences.

Below you will find a series of jumbled sentences that need to be restored in the correct order. Before you start, view this slide show to review certain rules that should help you complete the exercise.

Now that you've viewed the slide show, rearrange the sentence elements below and type out each complete sentence. For the purposes of this exercise, do ATTENTION: The sentences will only be recognized as correct if the spelling and punctuation are perfect, so be careful!!!

The first few sentences deal with general English, and are followed by several sentences of a more scientific nature.

Example: this morning / I / a newspaper / bought / at the store

Answer: I bought a newspaper at the store this morning.
